Blue Shades is a solemn yet striking portrait of the emu painted in layered blue tones, capturing both the dignity and vulnerability of these iconic birds. Their eyes hold the emotional weight of survival—watchful, resilient, and quietly enduring—which echoes aspects of my own story. Through careful attention to detail and the expressive use of blue, the work becomes more than a wildlife study; it becomes a metaphor for strength in harsh landscapes, perseverance, and the silent stories carried beneath the surface. Exhibiting Blue Shades with Expo Metro in Barcelona was an extraordinary experience, allowing my work to sit within an international context and giving me the chance to learn, grow, and see how deeply art can speak across cultures.
