Blog Entry: Printmaking – Releasing, Layering, and Finding Light
Printmaking has become one of the most meaningful parts of my studio practice this year. Each process—lino printing, screenprinting, and metal etching—offered a different way to explore emotion, memory, and healing. I discovered that printmaking is not just about ink on paper; it is about repetition, rhythm, and the quiet space that opens when the hands stay busy and the mind is allowed to breathe. Lino printing taught me the honesty of carving. Every cut is permanent, every

Blog Entry: What She Carried – A Concertina Book of Love, Memory, and Quiet Strength
Creating What She Carried was like unfolding a lifetime—one small moment, one tender memory at a time. This concertina book became a deeply personal way for me to honour the love story shared with my husband, Allan. Each page opens to a fragment of our journey: the first connection, letters and courtship, our wedding rings, the home we built together, our children and grandchildren, years of companionship, and the gentleness required when health begins to fade. The book stre

Blog Entry: Ceramics – Pinch Pots, and Everyday Ritual
My ceramics journey this year has been one of colour, earth, and emotional healing. I began with bright, joyful hand-built works — two small floral mugs and a bold purple-and-orange jug. Blog Entry: The Forgotten Pumpkin – A Sculpture of Memory, Pain, and Transformation
The Forgotten Pumpkin began as a sculpture, but very quickly it became something much larger — a way of revisiting a childhood wound and reshaping it into strength. This piece draws on a memory of being called a “princess” as a little girl, only to have that identity quietly taken away when life changed. I was no longer the princess. I became “the pumpkin” — overlooked, forgotten, and left on the edge of the story. Creating this wearable sculpture allowed me to return to that

Flora Line and her Friend
Blog Entry: Creating Flora Line – A Soft Sculpture of Strength and Sanctuary Over the past few months, I have been quietly working on one of the most meaningful pieces I’ve ever created: Flora Line , a fully jointed soft sculpture built from repurposed materials, wire, calico, lace, and imagination. What began as a simple studio exercise soon became a deeply personal exploration of identity, protection, and the inner world we retreat to when life becomes too heavy. Flora Line
